Hockey Heaven rolled out the Red Carpet for this guy and threw him out like trash, typical Darcy style. |

Is there a reason you compared Laughton instead of Jankowski, who went in the actual pick that Buffalo traded from?
- theblueandgold
From the last blog:
Yes there is, 20% because Laughton and Girgensons play the same position but mostly because the Flames are idiots. They drafted a guy that in all likely hood could have gotten in the second round with the pick we gave them. |

I agree it looks bad, but I prefer this than us keeping him and letting him walk for nothing or worse overpaying for him to stay. |

Nor should he. Regehr is perfect for a veteran team with that amount of talent. The Sabres aren't one of those. He'll decline. He already is. |

He probably instantly regretted coming here and then just never cared.
Maybe those rumors that he was a 'cancer' as overused as that term is around here, were true, because he just didnt want to play here.
he looks like a different person in LA |

It goes back to the same argument we had about the likes of Boyes, MacArthur, etc. Environment is everything for most players. Regehr is one of them. |

That is not the point I could figure that out for myself, the point is they look like fools the way they went about trying to get him. Then just toss him away, don't be so sure he wasn't going to resign here. |

They didn't toss him away. They gave him an opportunity to go somewhere that would give him a chance to win a Cup. I would say tossing him away would have been to just let him ride out the season here and then not offer him any kind of extension. They talked to him about all of it before it even happened. That tells me they had a lot of respect for him from start to finish. |

Its funny. When I first saw earlier today that he had resigned. I knew a blog from Garth was coming. One that didnt say anything that everyone already knows. |

don't pretend they were doing it to be nice. he had a no trade clause. they had to ask him if he wanted to be moved. darcy doesn't to respect. he tries to strong arm people and 99% of the time it goes wrong. cheers to suffering for the next 5-7yrs |

A lack of respect would have been to just let him continue to rot here for the rest of the year. They respected him enough to give him a chance to go somewhere else that gave him an opportunity to win a Cup.
You see it your way, and I see it mine. |

I know what I know about his situation and that's all I'm saying about it, so I'll leave it at that. |

If you know something, then say it. No need to be all cryptic. If you have facts, then state them, otherwise it's just an opinion. If I'm wrong and you have factual evidence to prove it, I'm all ears. |

He made big money and played like he didn't care 75% of the time like most of this team. Good riddance IMO. He was supposed to be one of the veteran "leaders" |
